In 1998, John Davidson crossed Canada 33 km at a time for a total of 8300
km to raise $2M for Jesse's Journey. There is now an annual 'Compass Walk' fundraiser that
replicates John's 33 km stints for all to participate in. Walk Across Canada in a DayWe have some exciting new changes to announce the walk moves to a Sunday and launches an ENTIRE MONTH of fundraising activities for Jesses Journey!! The Walk Across Canada in a Day will now kick off Defeat Duchenne Month, a month of fundraising for Jesses Journey. It all starts Sunday, May 1, 2011. The walk is set for Sunday, May 1 in Londons Springbank Park. Walkers collect pledges and can do all or part of a scenic 33 kilometre route or do the 5 kilometre route instead. (The reason for the 33 K route is because that is the distance that John Davidson walked each day when he walked across Canada total distance of 8,272 kilometres!) Businesses, students, families, friends and co-workers are all invited to join us and well add the total kilometres together. Last year, we raised more than $211,000 for Duchenne research.
